Setup and operate multiple three (3) axis CNC vertical milling centers to perform various milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and facing operations in a job shop or production environment. Setup and operate various manual engine lathes to perform facing, turning, boring and grooving operations. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the setup, programming and operation of CNC milling machines, horizontal boring mills or jig boring mills. Should also have experience in the setup and operation of manual engine lathes for heavy to light turning, boring and grooving on small to medium sized parts OR an Associate degree in machining with successful intern experience machining parts for manufacturing.
Experience with conversational programming (Okuma OSP, Mazatrol or similar software) is a plus. Experience working with Stainless Steels such as 304 and 316L and also Nickel based alloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy is a plus. Experience working with larger parts (24” – 50” diameter), a steady rest or tail stock on a manual engine lathe along with intricate setups is a plus. Master-Cam programming experience is a plus.
Machinist works on the production floor. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and crouch. Must be able to reach above and below shoulder and have fine finger manipulation.
Hourly position. 1st shift: M-F 6:30am - 3:00pm. 2nd shift: M-Th 3:30pm – 2:00am. Shifts currently slightly altered following COVID social distancing protocols. Position requires the ability to work over-time which may include arriving early or working on normally scheduled days off.
