General Production Supervisor (Lewis Run, PA)

Job Summary:

Responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the activities of a diverse group of individuals, across multiple departments, in order to meet the quality and scheduling requirements of our customer

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish work schedules, assignments and strategy to meet production goals. Move available resources to the bottleneck areas to improve process flow as required.
  • Must attend daily scheduling meetings.
  • Communicate the production schedule to the Department Leads and others and seek input on methods for successful execution.
  • Ensure that time worked is accurately recorded and complete for employees. This may include reviewing timesheets and absent sheets and working with the employee and HR/Payroll to resolve any issues that may arise. Approve the time worked and time off on daily or weekly timesheets and absent sheets as well as electronically in AX, if applicable, by the approval deadline.
  • Promote a positive culture and monitor employee morale.
  • Recommend or execute personnel measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, production quality or efficiency.
  • Identify training needs and evaluate employee development and performance.
  • Ensure that employees are trained and follow programs, policies and procedures.
  • Work with Production Manager to recommend personnel actions including hiring, promotions, or terminations. Work with Production Manager to solve personnel problems, complaints, or grievances.

Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, competing demands and to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. 

Full-time salaried 1st shift position. Must have freedom and willingness to work extended hours to support production and customer requirements.

Will be required to work from our location in Lewis Run, PA.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Education

  • Ability to competently use a computer including Microsoft Office & Dynamics AX
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through the use of strong conflict management and leadership skills.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • English Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, GD&T, quotations, bill of materials and detailed job instructions. Ability to write routing reports and correspondence so information is understood.  Ability to convey information by listening to and understanding information and ideas presented and communicating information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Ability to speak and project a professional image to visitors and customers.
  • Five years manufacturing experience working as a supervisor is preferred.
