Job Description

Job Summary:

Polish stainless steel components with a variety of abrasives, driven by electric and air power tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or worktables.
  • Polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Accurately completing work in a timely and safe fashion.
  • Mark defects for repair.
  • Measure objects and parts to ensure polishing standards are met.
  • Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during polishing process.
  • Record processing on specific forms.
  • Remove completed workpieces from equipment or work tables and place workpieces in appropriate containers, carts or shelves.
  • Utilizes crane and carts to move product.
  • Uses hand tools for assembly and disassembly.
  • Maintains quality assurance operations by following quality assurance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Independent, proactive, extremely detail oriented, dependable, organized and be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and possess efficient work habits.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Seeking applicant with experience and skill in running grinders, belt or disc sanders, drills, impact drivers, reciprocating saws, circular saws and/or oscillating tools. (experience can be from employment, schooling, and/or through personal home repairs).
  • Ability to work from written and verbal English language instruction.
  • Ability to write clearly in English language for others to read and understand.

A Polisher works on the production floor.  Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb.  Must be able to reach above and below shoulder and have fine finger manipulation. Work in an environment that can be dirty (metal dust).

Hourly position. 1st shift: M-F 6:30am – 3:00pm.  2nd shift: M-Th 3:30pm – 2:00am.  Shifts currently slightly altered following COVID social distancing protocols. Position requires the ability to work over-time which may include arriving early or working on normally scheduled days off.
