Job Summary:

Requires the use of metal forming and material joining techniques in order to fulfill the welding/fabrication requirements of Allegheny Bradford, its customers and governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to perform the following metal joining techniques – TIG, MIG, PAW
  • Ability to read, understand and act upon blueprints and drawings
  • Utilize varying inspection tools – tape measure, digital level, calipers, and fillet weld gauge
  • Ability to effectively communicate status of work to supervisor in written/oral form
  • Ability to safely operate lifting devices – fork lift, cranes
  • Adhering to defined dimensions and tolerances and recording the accuracy of such


Tools and Technology Skills:

Regular use of hand and power tools including but not limited to: grinders, saws, torches, welding units, drill presses, flame-cutting equipment, forklifts, hydraulic lifts, overhead cranes, gas welders, metal benders, shears, ladders, scaffolding, gauges, levels, measurement equipment, welding tips, and pipe cutters.


Education and/or Experience Required:

Post high school degree or certificate certified trade school, college or university: or high school diploma or equivalent with associated on the job welding training/ experience.


Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb.  Must be able to reach below shoulder and have fine finger manipulation.

1st shift: M-F 6:30 am – 3:00 pm OR 2nd shift: M-Th 3:30pm – 2:00am. Position requires the ability to work over-time which may include arriving early or working on normally scheduled days off.
