Good News! ABC has Reduced Shipping Lead Times
Thursday, October 31, 2019
Our industry has been busy the past couple of years. ABC has seen record-breaking orders due to high demand for our products. At the same time, unemployment rates have plunged, making it challenging to hire machinists and welders. These trends pushed ABC’s shipment lead times beyond what we and our customers want.
ABC has implemented several programs to address this. These are bearing fruit. For instance, since July we have been quoting 3” – 5” heat exchangers and 1-round filter housings at seven-to-nine weeks lead time. We’ve also reduced lead times for other products by several weeks.
Although we are hiring critical positions, our strategy has not been to simply hire a lot more people. This would raise costs and put pressure on pricing. Rather, we are attacking the issue by increasing throughput via manufacturing efficiencies that also yield improved quality and employee satisfaction.
You can be assured that our entire organization is working for you to reduce lead times while maintaining the high quality you have come to rely on from ABC.

Celebrating 50 Years of Serving Customers
Monday, July 8, 2019
Allegheny Bradford Corporation is proud to celebrate its 50th year in business - a half-century of helping our customers grow.
The ABC family of companies includes Allegheny Bradford Corporation, Top Line Process Equipment Co., and Allegheny Surface Technologies. To commemorate the anniversary, all employees gathered for a picture and refreshments at ABC corporate headquarters in Lewis Run, PA.
The company was founded in Janesville, Wisconsin to market sanitary equipment to the dairy-producer industry through distributors. Seeing additional opportunity, the company began marketing equipment to the food & beverage industry through Top Line Process Equipment Co., selling a complete line of sanitary stainless steel flow equipment: tubing, fittings, pumps, valves, and custom fabrications. Further opportunities led the corporation to expand into heat exchangers, filter housings, and other equipment for the pharmaceutical market, and then into electropolishing and other surface-treatment services.
The vision of the company’s founders and leadership, combined with the dedication and hard work of its entire team, has allowed to company to provide 245 American manufacturing jobs.

Allegheny Bradford Corporation is proud to be a part of the co-op program.
Our very own Tim Roff is featured in the article. This is what he had to say about it.
Tim Roff, director of human resources at Allegheny Bradford Corp., feels the program prepares students for employment in a way classroom education alone cannot.
“Allegheny Bradford has found the co-op program an excellent way to bridge the gap between employment and education while a student is still in high school,” said Roff. “This program allows students the best of both worlds as they continue to learn as they apply the classroom skills to the workplace.”
