|Good News! ABC has Reduced Shipping Lead Times|
|Thursday, October 31, 2019|
Our industry has been busy the past couple of years. ABC has seen record-breaking orders due to high demand for our products. At the same time, unemployment rates have plunged, making it challenging to hire machinists and welders. These trends pushed ABC’s shipment lead times beyond what we and our customers want.
ABC has implemented several programs to address this. These are bearing fruit. For instance, since July we have been quoting 3” – 5” heat exchangers and 1-round filter housings at seven-to-nine weeks lead time. We’ve also reduced lead times for other products by several weeks.
Although we are hiring critical positions, our strategy has not been to simply hire a lot more people. This would raise costs and put pressure on pricing. Rather, we are attacking the issue by increasing throughput via manufacturing efficiencies that also yield improved quality and employee satisfaction.
You can be assured that our entire organization is working for you to reduce lead times while maintaining the high quality you have come to rely on from ABC.
